Click to expand.Out of curiosity, I went to the amazon site and checked the latest price on the ORICO PFU3-4P (which is the 100% native OS X compatible card I am using) and the prices are between USD 20 and USD 30. There is one crazy shop asking for USD 79 but there is no need to buy from them Originally I bought the ORICO PFU3-4P for use in the Mac Pro 5,2s and used them extensively. In a Mac Pro 5,2 you need to either take power from one of the drive sleds or wire up an adapter to bring it down from the optical bays. I took the easier route and moved a hard drive from the #4 sled bay up into the optical bay and used a SATA power adapter to connect to a Y adapter from sled bay #4 to provide aux power for the cards. On my Hack Pro, it was much easier since PCs have more power ports and more cable routing options then the old Mac Pro case.

So this card is a cheaper card, it uses almost exactly the same components as the SonnetTech Allegro card, it does not come with a driver but relies on the built-in driver in OS X, it officially is not supported for Yosemite or El Capitan.
